A Long Awaited Update

Wow, it's been awhile since my last post. To say I have neglected my blogging duties would be something of an understatement. Thank you, everyone, for your patience.

First, to those of you who have contacted me to express how much you enjoyed The Tower of Shadows, I appreciate your kind words more than you might realize. It often takes me some time to respond, but I do read and value each and every one of your messages.

Second, to answer a significant question that's popped up in the vast majority of your emails: yes, there will be a sequel to The Tower of Shadows. In fact, I signed a three book contract with my publisher, so there will be two. The Tower of Shadows is the first installment in a projected trilogy. While this blog has languished, I've been writing the sequel, The Sea of Dreams. And I'm pleased to report I'm nearing the finish line. The Sea of Dreams should be finished in around three weeks, and when it is, I'll see about posting a sample chapter. At the moment, however, I am in all seriousness shacked up in Alaska, the one place in the country where there is absolutely no one to distract me from finishing my novel.

I have a piece of news to hold you over. The mass market paperback edition of The Tower of Shadows will be released in bookstores nationwide (USA and Canada) on June 24th. It even has a cool new cover, which you can see me beaming over here, in this picture:

I'll post another update soon. For now, you might want to check out an interview in which I answer some questions about The Tower of Shadows and The Sea of Dreams on Aidan Moher's A Dribble of Ink. Keep your fingers crossed that the writing continues to go well (and that the author isn't swallowed by a polar bear).

All the best,
Drew
